As Chief Impact Officer, Abbie Noriega works to understand the impacts that Bridges to Prosperity‘s rural access projects have in communities around the world, and to develop ways to collect, manage, and use data to make informed decisions in every program and department. In her time at B2P, Abbie established the organization’s first formal monitoring, evaluation, and research program, creating new internal initiatives to assess the effectiveness and reach of its programs, and engaging external subject matter experts to tackle important questions about the ability of rural pedestrian infrastructure to address poverty at scale.
In the last several years, Abbie also prepared the organization for rapid growth by transitioning B2P’s legacy paper processes to a digital environment, by building an integrated database to bring operational, fundraising, safety, impact monitoring, and needs assessment data together in one system, and creating digital forms and trainings to move field data collection from paper to mobile device, and building a foundational program to advance B2P’s work in global strategic partnerships. Her work is driven by the belief that safe access is a human right, and that a data-driven culture is foundational to effective programs. Over the last decade, her work has spanned operations, development, systems, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, and research, with focuses in agriculture, climate, marine resources, environmental policy, gender, and poverty in the US and abroad.
