Han Sheng Chia is currently the Senior Advisor at the Office of the Chief Economist, USAID. Previously, he served as a Senior Fellow at the Global Policy Lab, University of California, Berkeley to apply big data and remote sensing technology to the most pressing issues of our time. He was the vice president of Innovation at GiveDirectly, leading the organization’s investments to drive step-function change in cash delivery to the world’s poorest. He previously led GiveDirectly’s Humanitarian practice, growing programs from $1M in seed funding to more than $100M. He has run programs ranging from COVID-19 responses in Uganda and Togo to emergency hurricane responses in the Caribbean. Han Sheng previously held roles in management consulting and tech. He is a graduate of Brown University.
