Tracy Teal, Ph.D. is the Open Source Program Director at Posit PBC (formerly RStudio). Prior to this role, she was the Executive Director of Dryad and The Carpentries and a co-founder of Data Carpentry. She has a background in bioinformatics and microbial ecology with a Ph.D. in Computation and Neural Systems from the California Institute of Technology. Her work centers on democratizing data, bringing people to data and data to people, with the perspective that we can go further together.
